Early Childhood Mental Health Assessment & Consultation

A group of four people, including an adult man, an adult woman, and two children, are walking on a gravel trail through a lush green forested area during overcast weather. The adults are holding the children's hands, and they appear to be enjoying a nature hike in a mountainous region.

Our Early Childhood Health Consultation Package is designed to give families a clear picture of their child’s developmental, emotional, and social needs. Using play-based assessment, teacher input, and parent collaboration, we provide a thorough understanding of your child’s strengths and challenges—along with practical recommendations to support growth at home and school.

By the end of the consultation process, you’ll walk away with clarity about your child’s developmental profile and practical, customized recommendations to guide their growth.

Is your child….

  • Getting sent home from school?

  • Being suspended or expelled?

  • So distressed they can’t engage in every day activities?

    • Getting ready for school

    • Having tummy aches, headaches, or difficultly eating

    • Not seeming to connect with others

    • Difficulty learning

    • Having trouble sleeping

Is early childhood mental health assessment & consultation right for you?

If so, then early childhood consultation may be right for you! We work to identify the core issues and create a system to help all the major adults in your child’s life be on the same page about what it takes to succeed.

Together, we will assess what is causing your child to experience distress and create a collaborative plan to address it.

Alignment with Little Dove’s Practices

This package reflects Little Dove Counseling’s assessment standards, which emphasize whole-child understanding through observation, play, and family collaboration. Based on the findings, your family can be matched with a Little Dove clinician for ongoing therapy to provide continuity of care and support. This makes it easy to move directly from assessment into treatment if that is the best next step for your child.
